Two authored examples: a one-line request turned into a Lovable brief for a small business, and a feature request turned into a Cursor task with files and checks.

Two ways to start

Begin from words or from a page you already like. Either way you get one prompt in the shape your builder reads best.

Describe an idea
Say what the site is for, who visits it and what they should do. A sentence is enough; the prompt fills in pages, sections and style, with [PLACEHOLDERS] for facts only you know.
Start from a URL
Paste the address of a page whose layout you like. We read that one page for its outline, headings, colours and fonts, then write a prompt for your own site in that spirit, with new copy and no brand names.

Written for your builder

Each builder works from a different stack and reads a first message differently, so the prompt changes shape with it.

Lovable
Pages, design tokens and Supabase data in one brief.
v0
Next.js and shadcn/ui components, one route at a time.
Bolt
Stack, feature checklist and sample data that run in the preview.
Cursor
A coding agent task with files and acceptance criteria.

Site types and styles

6 kinds of site and 6 visual styles, or Any to let the prompt choose from your description.

Landing page
A single long page with one goal and one main call to action.
Business site
A small multi-page site: home, services, about, contact, maybe pricing.
Web app
A signed-in web app or dashboard with navigation, data views and forms.
Online store
A shop with product listing, product page, cart and checkout steps.
Portfolio
A personal or studio portfolio with a project grid and case pages.
Blog
A content site with an article list, article page, tags and newsletter signup.

How to use the website prompt generator

Three steps from an idea or a URL to a prompt your builder can start from.

  1. 11. Describe the site or paste a URLA rough idea is fine. With a URL, add a line about your own site so the prompt is about you, not the reference.
  2. 22. Pick the builder, site type and styleChoose Lovable, v0, Bolt and Cursor, then the kind of site and a visual style, or leave both on Any and let the prompt decide.
  3. 33. Copy it into your builderPaste the prompt as your first message, fill in the placeholders, then ask for one page or section at a time.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they write a website prompt.

1What is a website prompt generator?
It turns a short description of a site into the detailed first message an AI site builder needs: the pages, the sections on each page in order, the layout on phones and desktops, colours and fonts, the copy tone, the components and the technical limits. A builder given that brief makes fewer guesses, so you spend less time fixing the first version.
2Is it free?
Yes. You get 10 free runs a day on each device without an account, and 20 a day with a free account. It shares that allowance with the other prompt tools, and paid plans remove the daily limit.
3Which site builders does it write for?
Lovable: pages, design tokens and supabase data in one brief. v0: next.js and shadcn/ui components, one route at a time. Bolt: stack, feature checklist and sample data that run in the preview. Cursor: a coding agent task with files and acceptance criteria. Each prompt follows the shape that builder handles best.
4What happens when I paste a URL?
Our server downloads that one HTML page, without images, scripts or cookies, and pulls out its title, headings, navigation labels, section order, colours and fonts, plus a short sample of the text for tone. Only that summary goes to the AI model. The page itself is not stored, and nothing from it is shown back except a short note of what was read.
5Will it copy the reference site?
No. The model is told to use the reference for structure and style only, to write new copy for your site and to leave out the reference's name, products and logos. Use it for inspiration, and only build on designs you have the right to use.
6Why can't it read some pages?
It reads public web pages only. Addresses on private networks, pages larger than 2 MB, pages that take longer than 5 seconds, files that are not HTML and pages whose robots.txt asks tools like ours to stay out are skipped. Sites that build everything with JavaScript may also give a thin summary; describe the site instead in that case.
7Can I use the prompt for a site with accounts or payments?
Yes. Pick Web app or Online store and say what users need to do. The prompt lists the data the site needs and, for Lovable and Bolt, when to connect Supabase. Payment details stay as placeholders for you to set up in the builder.
