What each part of the prompt does

A pull back reveal
Starting tight and ending wide gives the clip a beginning and an end, and the reveal of scale is what people watch drone footage for.
Overcast light
Soft light lets moss and water keep their detail. Bright sun on falling water often comes out as a patch of blown-out white.
Sound that follows the camera
The roar fading as the drone climbs ties the audio to the motion, a small detail that makes the clip feel recorded on location.
Stabilised motion
Asking for smooth, stabilised drone footage steers the model away from handheld shake, which looks wrong at this height.

Variations to try

Same idea, one thing changed. These have no clip yet.

  • Autumn colours

A tall, narrow waterfall drops into a dark green pool in a forest gorge in autumn. Shot 1: close aerial view at the top of the falls, white water pouring over the edge. Shot 2: the drone pulls back and rises above the treetops, revealing ridges of orange, red and yellow trees. Setting and light: soft overcast light, a few leaves drifting down. Style: nature documentary aerial footage, rich autumn colours, smooth stabilised motion. Sound: falling water, wind in the trees. Duration: 5 seconds.

  • Sunrise through mist

A tall, narrow waterfall drops into a turquoise pool in a mossy forest gorge at sunrise. Shot 1: close aerial view of the falls, low golden sunbeams cutting through the mist. Shot 2: the drone rises slowly above the canopy into the light. Setting and light: warm low sun, thick mist in the valley. Style: nature documentary aerial footage, warm natural colours, smooth stabilised motion. Sound: falling water, birdsong. Duration: 5 seconds.

If the result isn't right

  • If the water looks frozen or glassy, add "fast white water with visible spray" to Shot 1.
  • For a vertical version, replace the pull back with "a slow rise straight up the face of the falls" and set the ratio to 9:16.
  • Do not name a real waterfall. The look comes from the description, and a famous name adds landmarks you then have to fight.
