What each part of the prompt does
- Room stays the same
- "Keeping the room, furniture and Christmas tree exactly as they are" tells the model to add one figure and change nothing else, so children recognise their own home.
- Caught, not posing
- Mid-movement, looking over his shoulder with a finger to his lips: a caught moment is more convincing than Santa smiling at the camera.
- Matching light
- Dark room, tree lights and a little hallway light describe the light already in your photo, so Santa is lit the same way as the room around him.
- Phone flaws
- Grain and motion blur on his hand make it look like a quick low-light phone photo, which is the detail that stops it looking pasted on.
Variations to try
Same idea, one thing changed. These have no example image yet.
Doorbell camera Add Santa Claus to my uploaded photo of my living room, keeping the room, furniture and Christmas tree exactly as they are. Santa kneels beside the tree at night, placing a wrapped present underneath, caught mid-movement and looking over his shoulder towards the camera with a finger to his lips. The room is dark except for the tree lights and a little light from the hallway. Make it look like a frame from a home security camera: black and white night vision, wide-angle distortion, a white timestamp reading 24/12 02:14 in the top corner. Keep the original frame.
Eating the cookies Add Santa Claus to my uploaded photo of my living room, keeping the room, furniture and Christmas tree exactly as they are. Santa stands by the table at night, eating one of the cookies left out for him, a glass of milk in his other hand, caught mid-bite and looking surprised at the camera. The room is dark except for the tree lights and a little light from the hallway. Make it look like a real phone photo taken in low light: slight grain, a little motion blur on his hand and shadows that match the room. Keep the original frame.
Only the evidence Add signs that Santa visited to my uploaded photo of my living room, keeping the room, furniture and Christmas tree exactly as they are. Sooty boot prints lead from the fireplace to the tree, new wrapped presents sit underneath it, a half-eaten cookie and an empty glass of milk are on the table, and one red velvet glove lies on the floor. Morning light from the window. Make it look like a real phone photo, natural shadows that match the room. Keep the original frame.
If the result isn't right
- If the room changes, repeat "change nothing in the room except adding Santa" and try again.
- When Santa looks too clean and bright, ask for "Santa lit only by the tree lights, mostly in shadow".
- If Santa is the wrong size, add "Santa the same scale as the sofa and the tree".
- For a clip, give the result to a video model with "Santa stands up and tiptoes out of frame".
