What each part of the prompt does
- Hide, then show
- The headland blocks the view for the first half, so the climb has something to uncover. Without a foreground obstacle, a rising drone only shows more of the same sea.
- Skim height first
- Flying a few metres above the water makes the speed visible through the passing waves, a sensation that disappears once the drone is high.
- Sunrise timed to the climb
- Asking for the sun to clear the horizon during Shot 2 ties the brightest moment to the reveal, so light and view peak together.
- Mist for depth
- A thin layer of mist separates the headland, the stack and the far shore into layers, which gives a wide aerial frame its sense of distance.
Variations to try
Same idea, one thing changed. These have no clip yet.
Sunset with a sailboat A wild rocky coastline at sunset: a dark headland, a tall sea stack offshore and a small white sailboat beyond it. Shot 1: low drone shot skimming toward the headland above calm water, waves breaking on the rocks. Shot 2: the drone rises above the cliff top and the sea stack and the sailboat come into view against the low sun. Setting and light: deep orange sun near the horizon, purple clouds, glittering water. Style: cinematic aerial shot, warm grade, fine film grain. Sound: wind and slow waves. Duration: 5 seconds.
Vertical for Reels A wild rocky coastline at dawn: a dark headland, a tall sea stack offshore and an empty crescent beach beyond it. Shot 1: low drone shot over calm water toward the headland, the rocks filling the lower half of the frame. Shot 2: the drone rises above the cliff top and tilts down to show the beach curving away below. Setting and light: first light, pale gold sun, soft mist over the water. Style: cinematic aerial shot, smooth motion, gentle contrast. Sound: wind and waves on rock. Duration: 5 seconds, vertical 9:16.
If the result isn't right
- If the drone flies into the rock instead of over it, move "the drone rises above the cliff top" to the very start of Shot 2.
- Swap dawn for a stormy afternoon with dark clouds and white surf when the edit needs tension rather than calm.
- Leave the coast unnamed. A famous landmark pulls the model toward postcard framing and can bend the shape of the cliffs.
