What each part of the prompt does
- Left and right roles
- Naming "the person on the left" and "the person on the right" assigns each action to one face, so the model does not swap who does what.
- A small comedy
- The tangle of fairy lights gives the second person a reason to laugh, and laughing faces hide small eye-direction mismatches that a straight pose exposes.
- Real mess
- Half-open boxes of baubles and a knitted throw on the sofa make the room look like a real evening at home rather than a showroom.
- Friend's phone
- "As if a friend took it on a phone" sets the camera height and quality: eye level, slightly imperfect, close to the kind of photo couples actually post.
Variations to try
Same idea, one thing changed. These have no example image yet.
Real tree from the market Keep both faces from my uploaded photo exactly the same. Show the couple carrying a fresh pine tree together through a snowy Christmas tree market, the person on the left at the front and the person on the right at the back, both laughing. Rows of trees, string lights over the stalls, snow on their hats and shoulders. Both wear winter coats and knitted hats. Candid, as if a friend took it on a phone, 4:5 frame.
Hanging a first bauble Keep both faces from my uploaded photo exactly the same. Show the couple decorating a Christmas tree in their living room: they hang one glass bauble together, both holding its ribbon, foreheads close and smiling. Half-open boxes of baubles on the floor, a sofa with a knitted throw, evening light from a lamp and the tree lights. Both wear cosy knitwear. Candid, as if a friend took it on a phone, 4:5 frame.
Small flat, small tree Keep both faces from my uploaded photo exactly the same. Show the couple decorating a small tabletop Christmas tree in a tiny city flat: the person on the left stands on tiptoe placing a gold star on top, and the person on the right holds a tangle of fairy lights and laughs up at them. Half-open boxes of baubles on the floor, a window with city lights behind, evening light from a lamp and the tree lights. Both wear cosy knitwear. Candid, as if a friend took it on a phone, 4:5 frame.
If the result isn't right
- If clothes or actions swap between you, repeat "the person on the left" and "the person on the right" in your follow-up.
- When the star or lights float, ask for "the star held in the hand, the lights held in both hands".
- If one face is sharp and the other soft, request "both faces in sharp focus".
- For a wider room shot, change the frame to "3:2 frame" and add "the whole tree visible".
