About these prompts

3D figurine prompts turn a photo of a person or a pet into something that looks like an object you could hold: a collectible figure on a desk next to its box, a matching pair of figures for a couple, a stitched plush toy, or a character from a 3D animated film. The prompts keep the face and markings from your photo and change the material around them.

Each prompt here comes with an example we made on our own sample photos. The people and the dog in those photos are AI-generated.

How to use these prompts

  1. 101Pick a clear, front-facing photoThe model copies what it can see. A sharp photo with the whole face or body in view, in even light, gives the figure the right hair, clothes and markings.
  2. 202Send the prompt with the photoUpload the photo in Gemini and paste the prompt in the same message. Change the scene details in the text, such as the desk, the box or the room, to suit you.
  3. 303Ask for one change at a timeIf the result is close, reply with a single fix, like a bigger base or a different box colour, rather than pasting the whole prompt again.

Questions

1Can I order a real figure from the image?
The image is a picture, not a 3D model file. Some print shops and sculptors work from a reference picture, so it can serve as a brief, but you would need them to model it.
2Why does the figure not look like me?
Small or side-on faces lose detail. Use a photo where your face is large and facing the camera, and keep the line in the prompt that asks for the same face.
3Do these work with pets?
Yes. Pets with clear markings come out best, because the model has distinct colours and shapes to copy onto the fur or fabric.
4Which app should I use?
These prompts were written for Gemini and its Nano Banana image models. ChatGPT with image generation follows most of them too.
